Diana Anaid

Diana Anaid is an Australian singer/songwriter who first rose to national prominence in 1997. Fiercely independent from the start, Diana returns 20 years on with her new album My Queen.

Co-written with longtime guitarist Nathan Correy, My Queen’s 11 songs reveal the tremendous personal and musical growth of the artist with themes of endurance and transformation, taking lyrical inspiration from the transgender journey of her sister, with first tunes Can’t Apologise and Better Girl amongst the new songs that focus on this uplifting and transformative story. “This album of thoughtfully chosen songs was written during a brief hiatus from the industry, time that I spent reconnecting with family and with my love of writing. My Queen speaks of my never-ending love for my transgender sister and my wish for a more compassionate world for her.”

Forming her own label Forola Music, Diana’s 2010 self-titled release was lauded as one of her ‘best records yet’ (POLLSTAR MAG) with Diana extensively touring the USA and Australia to promote the single Cynical on Waking.

Developed over years of writing and re-working, My Queen heralds the return of one of our most passionate storytellers and the re-emergence of a “truly talented singer/songwriter”. (The Music Network)
