Cape York’s singer/songwriter Ella Hartwig blends her folk roots with a hint of country and a twist of pop. Hailing from Cooktown, Far North Queensland, Ella has been internationally acknowledged for her songwriting. The two-time Queensland Music Award Nominee was recognised for “Can’t Ask You to Stay” and “Staged Reality” that she wrote at age thirteen.
Ella first emerged onto the Australian folk festival scene at age fourteen, and has since has appeared on the bill for established music festivals such as Wallaby Creek Folk Festival, Cooktown Discovery Festival and Black Mountain Unplugged. Ella is best known for her Debut EP, released in 2019, which earned her a number of Queensland Music Award nominations and strong support slots for acts the likes of Neil Murray, Busby Marou, Black Image Band and Leanne Tennant (LT).
Her sound has been compared to the likes of early Missy Higgins, Melissa Etheridge, Taylor Swift, and Jack Johnson, but her style is undeniably her own.
