Venue Handbook (FAQ)
Pushworth Live Venue Portal & Entertainment Programs
1. What exactly does Pushworth do?
Pushworth acts as your Entertainment Supply Chain Management partner.
We source, contract, administer and manage entertainment services on behalf of our Venue Partners, allowing your team to focus on delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Our services include:
- Entertainment sourcing and programming
- Artist, DJ and Feature Show bookings
- Contract administration
- Venue and Supplier onboarding
- Marketing asset management
- Compliance management
- Superannuation administration (where elected)
- Weekly invoicing and reporting
- Access to the Pushworth Live Venue Portal
2. What is the Pushworth Live Venue Portal?
The Pushworth Live Venue Portal is your central entertainment management platform.
It provides one secure location to manage your entertainment program, supplier information and financial records.
Through the Portal you can access:
- Booking Overview
- Entertainment Calendar
- Invoice Downloads
- Payment Status
- Marketing Assets
- Supplier Directory
- Compliance Documents
- Venue Reports
- Entertainment History
- Superannuation Administration (where elected)
3. Are artists employees of the venue?
No.
Artists engaged through the Pushworth Marketplace are generally engaged as independent business operators delivering an agreed entertainment outcome under a commercial Show Contract.
Depending on their business structure, Suppliers may operate as:
- Sole Traders
- Companies (Pty Ltd)
- Trusts
- Partnerships
- Incorporated Production Companies
Pushworth is not a labour hire provider and does not employ Suppliers.
4. Do I need to pay Superannuation Guarantee (SG)?
The application of the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (Cth) depends on the structure of each engagement.
Under current ATO guidance, certain sole trader entertainers may be treated as employees for Superannuation Guarantee purposes, even where they operate as independent contractors.
Because every venue’s circumstances are different, Pushworth cannot determine your legal obligations or provide legal, taxation or accounting advice.
We strongly recommend that every Venue obtain advice from its own accountant or professional adviser.
5. Why am I being asked to complete an SG Nomination Form?
The SG Nomination Form simply tells Pushworth how you would like any applicable Superannuation Guarantee administered.
You may choose either to:
Option 1 – Pushworth Administers SG
Where applicable, Pushworth will:
- calculate the SG contribution;
- identify the SG separately on Show Contracts;
- identify the SG separately on weekly invoices;
- collect the contribution from the Venue;
- remit the contribution to the Supplier’s nominated Superannuation Fund; and
- maintain payment records and reporting.
Option 2 – Venue Administers SG
If you prefer to manage SG internally, Pushworth will continue to identify the applicable SG on your Show Contracts and invoices, while your business manages payment and reporting through your own payroll or accounting systems.
6. Doesn’t the ATO say the entity making the payment is responsible for SG?
The ATO guidance explains the legislation in general terms.
Pushworth operates under a Queensland Private Employment Agent Licence as a Marketplace and booking administrator.
Our role is to arrange and administer entertainment engagements between Clients and Suppliers.
Where a Venue elects for Pushworth to administer SG, Pushworth processes those contributions in the same administrative capacity that it processes Supplier payments.
The provision of this administration service does not determine or alter the legal obligations of any party under the legislation.
Every Venue remains responsible for obtaining independent advice regarding its own obligations.
7. How does billing work?
Pushworth issues entertainment invoices weekly, generally on the first business day following the entertainment week.
Invoices clearly identify:
- Entertainment Fees
- GST (where applicable)
- Superannuation Guarantee (where applicable)
Clients can:
- View invoices online
- Download invoices
- Track payment status
- View entertainment history
- Review financial year totals
Standard payment terms are seven (7) days unless otherwise agreed.
8. What happens if an artist cancels?
If an artist cancels due to illness, accident or another legitimate reason, Pushworth will use reasonable efforts to source an appropriate replacement.
Clients are encouraged to consider replacement options in good faith to minimise disruption to their entertainment program.
9. What happens if we need to cancel a booking?
All venue cancellations must be submitted in writing.
To minimise cancellation costs, notice should generally be provided at least twenty-eight (28) business days before the scheduled performance.
Late cancellations may result in cancellation fees where artist, marketing, production or administrative costs have already been incurred.
Your Booker will discuss available options where exceptional circumstances exist.
- Can we book Pushworth artists directly?
No.
Artists introduced through the Pushworth Marketplace remain part of the Pushworth supply chain for a minimum of twelve (12) months.
This protects the considerable investment made in:
- sourcing;
- evaluating;
- onboarding;
- compliance;
- contract administration;
- marketing;
- payment administration; and
- ongoing supplier management.
If you would like to continue booking an artist, simply contact your Pushworth Booker.
11. Can we use artist photos and promotional material?
Yes.
Marketing assets supplied through the Pushworth Live Portal are licensed for promoting the specific booked event.
These materials remain the intellectual property of the Supplier.
They must not be:
- altered without permission;
- reused for unrelated promotions;
- supplied to third parties;
- used after the relevant booking without approval.
12. What should we do if there is an issue on the day?
Contact Pushworth immediately.
Examples include:
- late artist arrival;
- technical problems;
- safety concerns;
- production issues;
- contract questions;
- performance concerns.
If an artist is running more than 15 minutes late for load-in, or has not arrived within 30 minutes of the scheduled performance time, please contact Pushworth immediately so we can assist.
Early communication gives us the greatest opportunity to resolve issues before they affect your patrons.
13. Can we include our own direct bookings in the Portal?
Yes.
The Pushworth Live Venue Portal allows you to maintain a complete entertainment calendar by recording both Pushworth bookings and your own direct bookings.
Benefits include:
- complete entertainment calendars;
- improved reporting;
- centralised scheduling;
- marketing visibility;
- better operational planning.
Speak with your Pushworth Booker if you would like this feature enabled.
- Do I have to use Pushworth to administer SG?
No.
Pushworth offers SG administration as an optional service. During onboarding, your business can nominate whether:
- Pushworth will administer SG on your behalf; or
- your business will administer SG internally.
This election simply tells Pushworth how you would like bookings administered. It does not determine your legal obligations under the Superannuation Guarantee (Administration) Act 1992 (Cth). Every venue should obtain independent advice from its accountant or legal adviser regarding its own obligations.
